PuriCore Announces Major Supermarket Contract
Awarded to Sterilox Food Safety Division
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA, and STAFFORD, UK, September 13, 2006 -- PuriCore plc
('PuriCore') (London Stock Exchange: PURI), the developer of a novel, safe
technology that mimics the human body's natural anti-microbial, hypochlorous
acid, announces today that its Sterilox Food Safety division has been awarded a
contract from a major US supermarket chain, worth approximately $3.3 million in
cumulative revenue and cash flow over a three year period. This contract, which
is the second largest in PuriCore's history, represents an initial order for
just over 200 Sterilox Systems to be leased over a three year period.
Installation of these Systems is expected to commence in September and to be
completed by the end of the year.
With this new order, PuriCore anticipates it will have an installed base of over
1,400 Sterilox Systems in US supermarkets by year end.
The Sterilox System produces a food safe sanitizer from only water and common
salt which, when converted through patented technology, provides retailers with
a solution to potential cross contamination of harmful bacteria or spoilage
organisms in the produce, seafood and floral departments. The Sterilox System's
proprietary technology has been proven to substantially reduce shrink and labour
costs while improving the freshness and safety of retailers' products. The
Sterilox System is fully automated and uses very little floor space, which is
ideal for supermarket backrooms. The sanitizer is non-toxic, food safe, FDA
allowed and EPA registered.
