Christopher Paul James Wightman, Non-Executive Chairman
Mr Wightman, 50, joined PuriCore in 1998 as a Non-Executive Director and was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors in August 2002. Mr Wightman is Chairman or Director of a number of private UK companies including ASI Solutions plc, Clickstream Technologies plc, and Equinox Capital Ltd. He is also a partner in Mount Row Capital LLP. He previously spent 14 years in the investment banking industry with Goldman Sachs, Bankers Trust, NatWest, and NationsBank. He read law at Nottingham University before joining Arthur Andersen & Co., where he qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr Wightman is a member of the Nomination Committee.
Gregory Todd Bosch, Chief Executive Officer
Mr Bosch joined PuriCore in November 2004 as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining PuriCore, Mr Bosch held a variety of management and leadership positions with Baxter International during his 19-year tenure. Most recently, he was Vice President and General Manager of Baxter's BioSurgery division, which experienced growth from $40 million in 1998 to more than $220 million in 2004 under his leadership. Mr Bosch had international assignments in Austria and Switzerland and he was a board member of Baxter AG. In 2006, Mr Bosch received the Life Sciences CEO of the Year award from the Eastern Technology Council's Enterprise Awards. Mr Bosch received his BA from Duke University and his MBA from DePaul University. Mr Bosch is a member of the Nomination Committee.
Darren D. Weiss, CPA, Chief Financial Officer
Mr Weiss, 38, Joined PuriCore in November 2004 as Corporate Controller, bringing more than 11 years of financial experience in the life sciences and manufacturing industries. He spent two years as Corporate Controller for PuriCore before adding the Director of Finance role to his responsibilities. Mr Weiss was name Vice President, Finance in November 2008 and in November 2009, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director. He began his career in public accounting arena, including three years in the Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice of KPMG LLP. Subsequent to KPMG, Mr Weiss was a Senior Financial Analyst for McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a $1 billion subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, and a Financial Controller for Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation where he had financial management responsibility for two facilities totaling $75 million in revenues. He received a BS in Accounting from Syracuse University.
Timothy Bruce Anderson, Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr Anderson joined PuriCore in September 2006 as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He held various executive management positions from 1972 to 2002 at Baxter International, a leading US medical technology company, including Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development; President, Biotech Group; and Group Vice President and Chairman, Baxter Europe. Mr Anderson is also currently a Director of Cerus Corporation. Mr Anderson is a member of the Audit Committee.
Joseph William Birkett, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr Birkett joined PuriCore in 1999 as an Independent Non-Executive Director and was appointed Senior Independent Non-Executive Director on 31 January 2008. Mr Birkett is an independent consultant and investor. He is former Chairman of Chelford Group plc and former non-executive director of Monument Securities Ltd. His career was in finance and global investment banking before forming and running two independent venture capital firms in the 1980s and 1990s. Following a BSc in Economics from Sheffield University, he qualified as an FCA with Touche Ross (now Deloitte & Touche LLP). Mr Birkett is a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees.
Michael Dimitrios Sapountzoglou, Non-Executive Director
Mr Sapountzoglou joined PuriCore in 1999 as a Non-Executive Director. Mr Sapountzoglou brings more than 20 years of investment and finance experience and is currently the Finance Director for Metrostar Management Corp., the shipping arm of the Angelopoulos group, and serves as the corporate finance and investment adviser for the group's other global investment activities. Previously, he was a co-founder of Gamma Research and the Investment Manager for Star Maritime S.A. Mr Sapountzoglou is also an investment adviser to Gacita Limited. Mr Sapountzoglou is a member of the Remuneration Committee.
James Walsh, PhD, Independent Non-Executive Director
Dr Walsh, 50, joined PuriCore in September 2006 as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He has 20 years of general management experience in the diagnostics industry. He is a Non-Executive Director with Trinity Biotech Plc, an Advisory Board member for Bank of Ireland, Kernel Capital Partners, and BioCurex as well as CEO of Biosensia Ltd. Dr Walsh also holds Non-Executive Director positions with several early-stage life sciences companies. Previously he was Managing Director of Cambridge Diagnostics Ltd. Dr Walsh was graduated from National University of Ireland with a Doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry and Post Doctorate qualifications in Immunochemistry. Dr Walsh is a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees.
